This past weekend was her Sanja Matsuri (Festival of the three temples) in Asakusa .

The Sanja Matsuri is one of the shindoista matsuri (festivals) most important of Tokyo.
The festival is held in honor of Hinokuma HAMANARI, Hinokuma Takenari and Hajino Nakatomo which were the founders of Senso-ji Temple (Asakusa Temple) the third week of May in the temple of Asakusa.

The festival is estimated to come about 2 million people to give over the 3 days of this.

The highlight of the matsuri is performed in the third and last day of the festival, where they walk the streets of Asakusa three omikoshi (portable shrine) which is a miniature representation of the temple of Asakusa.
These portable shrines decorated with gold cost about 40 billion yen to build and weighing about a ton, which are transported to the man for 40 people per omikoshi, but these people take turns, making if that day have carried out hoods about 500 people.

Besides these three main omikoshi, over three days walk the streets of Asakusa about 100 omikoshi over smaller size.
Besides all this, through the streets of Asakusa you can see shows and food shops etc.

In this festival many yakuza used to go teaching your body fully tattooed, but it seems that lately and do not seek so much to this matsuri.

I made the mistake of going on Saturday instead of Sunday but I still had a good time.
