A 16-year Japanese solve the Rubik's cube in 11.5 seconds
Who has not ever taken off the stickers in red, blue, green, white and yellow to get solved? It was invented in 1974 the Hungarian Erno Rubik and has entertained more than a generation. On Sunday, Makayima Yu, 16, solved the 'Magic Cube' in just 11.5 seconds, fastest in its attempt.
The prize: 5,000 euros. Makayima was the winner of the fourth edition of Rubik Cube World Championship , which took place throughout the weekend in Budapest (Hungary) and brought together over 250 speedcubistas , virtuous resolution from 33 países.Entre these, not only was the world champion Jean Pons , but also wonders as Bernett Orlando, 11 and from India, and Japanese Josiki Jumoto, aged seven, who armed the mechanical puzzle in just over 15 seconds. Far, however, the world record of 9.86 seconds held since May, the Frenchman Thibaut Jacquinot .The event had this year with 17 categories ranging from classical resolution to the assembly of the cube blindfolded , one hand or even with your feet . One category in which the Finnish Anssi Vanhala got a time of 49.33 seconds, despite the fact that stole his favorite cube, greased with lubricant, during the competition.
The Spanish Regueira Ernesto Fernandez won the gold medal in its category of most curious: the 'Rubik's Clock', a version of the cube consists of watch dials to be set pointing at 12:00.
