Piracy in Japan
In Spain, as in many other European countries, people who have internet at home, quite used to download music, movies or any P2P client with either Emule, Kazaa, BitTorrent and so on. However, here in Japan, the Japanese do not usually use any P2P program to download music, movies or anything like that. The times I've asked several Japanese on the subject I've always responded saying - that's illegal - or - Is that you can download online? - And who have not seen any surveys of the level of piracy in different countries, I would say that in Japan have a very low rate of piracy.
Taking the issue of piracy to another level, a few months ago when it launched the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 3 was discussing with a Japanese group which would be the best option among the subjects of conversation I remove the issue of power PlayStation hack might be a good factor for people to buy this console. In saying that the Japanese were amazed, had never heard that on the PlayStation could put a chip to play pirated games.
Having all this and the economic level of the Japanese is good enough, you can imagine is that the market for software, music, games etc is big business here, the only thing I still have my doubts - Why not pirate? Why are good people and not do anything illegal or because they ignore the fact that it can be done online? -.
