Michael Jackson met with thousands of U.S. soldiers and families of the troops at an army base south of Tokyo, which represented the continuation of the activities of the pop star in this country.

Some 3,000 soldiers and their families gathered in the gym at Camp Zama, to see Jackson, who shook hands with several soldiers and thanked them for their service to America.

"Those who are here today are among the world's most special people," Jackson told the soldiers, in a speech read. "For those who are here today and others who have so valiantly given their lives to protect us that we can enjoy our freedom."

Jackson, 48, arrived in Japan on Sunday for his second stay in the country in less than a year, in order to attend several events, including a party on Thursday in Tokyo.

The pop star was the guest of honor at the lavish party attended by fans of Jackson, and 100 disabled children, who entered free.

The guests paid $ 3,500 each to attend the event, which included a dinner, a show with several Jackson impersonators and a chance to meet, greet and photograph the artist. (Via: EnlineaDirecta )
