At least nine people have died today and twelve were injured by the effects of a tornado in the northern island of Hokkaido in Japan, where it has caused the collapse of a dozen mobile homes which have buried 20 workers.
According to law enforcement and fire service, the tornado caused the collapse of housing and prefabricated offices of a company dedicated to building a tunnel in the town of Saroma, in northeastern Hokkaido.
The Nippon Television images showed cars crushed NHK and masses of iron, wood and plastic from collapsed buildings to the passage of hurricane winds. Kyodo news agency also reported that six others were missing in the city of Saroma.
