Prevention of infection
Today I woke up with anywhere near the salivary glands (below the ears) inflamed. After breakfast spend a few minutes and with some difficulty opening the mouth we have noticed that the swelling had increased considerably, so we've gone to the hospital.
After arriving at the hospital and request number, the reception girl made out to a doctor right away, which I have looked in the reception and told me that probably are mumps (Otafuku in Japanese), so I've made pass in a room all alone to wait, instead of waiting in the same room that the whole world.
After half an hour of espepera I have called the consultation, which has served me another doctor. After looking at me, told me that seemed to mumps, but the swelling usually takes place over backwards, exactly in the salivary glands. I have told the doctor that when I was little and pass the mumps, so do not think they would mumps since mumps supposedly only happen once. The doctor told me that there are some cases that if small mumps have been passed without too much pain and swelling was small, chances are that most back out (in my case, small is not puffed me almost nothing .)
It has also been a bit surprised this week never happened today either had fever and fever, as I have said that normally when you catch mumps have a slight fever and if today or tomorrow I a fever, almost certainly are mumps and already has hit the Ayumi.
As there were some things that add up and others not, I said I left the room again and I would call just to draw blood and look at me sure I had.
After waiting a few minutes, instead of calling for my blood, has been a nurse with a cart with all the tools to draw blood and blood drawn me in the same waiting room. After that another nurse came to the waiting room to give me the bill of 2600 yen for the doctor's office.
Given the possibility of having mumps and could infect people in the hospital, I have kept as much as possible distant from others in the hospital.
When I went to the pharmacy to buy medicine that the doctor had told me, the pharmaceutical has told me that I sacarían medicine right away, but I had to wait in terms of having to post for people who have ability to infect others, a tiny room in which was "Clean room".
After a few minutes has been the pharmaceutical to the same room and I explained all of the medicines.
Definitely a new story, did not know that Japan take too seriously the issue of contagion. Now I only wait for blood tests.
Here a couple of photos I've taken today with the phone:
