As I said once, in Japan there are no social security and in Spain. Here you pay each time you go to the doctor, however, insurance is called "National Health Insurance" that foreigners can get to register as residents in Japan.
Within the "National Health Insurance" basically there are two kinds of insurance:

- The company (Shakai Hoken / Kenkohoken): This is insurance that comes from being a company worker, and with it only pays 20% every time you go to the doctor or 30% in the case of family the worker.

- Private (Kokumin Kenko Hoken): This is the kind of "national health insurance" you have when you're a student or worker. This insurance pays 30% of medical expenses.

There are also some special diseases or medications that fall into this kind of insurance, so you would have to pay 100% of the price and in some cities, children under 7 years have free medical expenses.

For you see some examples of prices for doctors, today I went to the doctor because I had plugged one ear and not hearing well with this ear. The doctor has cost him 5 minutes to take off the cap of the ear and the cost of the consultation is 900 yen (6 €), which means that if you did not have health insurance would have cost about 20 €.
