Karaoke
Two months ago when they came my friends from Spain , take it to a Karaoke of these that are so popular here in Japan.
What first surprised everyone but them is that the karaoke in Japan are buildings with individual rooms for each group of friends, so you can be singing and you only have to put up with your friends and not in front of strangers.
Almost all also have karaoke service food and drink, where both food and drink is quite similar to what can be found at the izakaya, with the only difference of course this menu is not as extensive as in the izakaya .
As for the drink deals are also typical of nomihodai (drink as much as you can for a limited time) for two hours normally.
Prices depend greatly on the Karaoke, but something reasonable can be, about 1000-1500 yen / hour / person renting the karaoke room with all the equipment but the food and drink at hand, being the menu prices or alternatively, for 2 hours nomihodai about 1500-2000 yen with the food part. To make matters worse, most karaoke are open until dawn!
This offering karaoke, and considering that many people have to go home before 24.00 (when the last train) makes karaoke are a big hit in Japan.
In a karaoke you can have a very good time with friends and in our case a couple of months ago. We met a few friends, it was dinner time and we wanted hungry but want to party. On the other hand the next morning and we knew we had to get up early to catch the train back home. This led us to go to dinner at karaoke, with our room to ourselves and open bar for two hours, so after a short time was getting people contentilla and took away the shame of singing.
My friends dancing and singing "Vive la vida loca".
That party!
