A loin of Yurikamome

The Mono Rail Yurikamome line is the only fully automated transport in Tokyo and connects the city with the island of Odaiba. Its name is due to black-headed gulls living in Tokyo Bay.

When it opened this new line, needed to be profitable around 80. 000 passengers a day, but in the early months was not getting to 20,000, raising fears of closure.
But in 1996, authorities in Tokyo projected on the island of Odaiba a spectacular residential, leisure services and call, Rainbow City.

Soon the island is full of restaurants, shopping centers, exhibitions, museums all increased over time the number of travelers that exceeded 60. 000 a day.
But it was only thanks to the new development of the island, Tokyoites began to see the Yurikamome, as an attraction in itself. Since its journey can enjoy a panoramic and breathtaking views of Tokyo Bay the most spectacular.

It's clean, accessible and comfortable but its price is considerably more expensive than the subway. But still today because more than 100,000 commuters. It is worth to enjoy a ride on "The Black-headed Gull," the experience is unique.

Terminator

As many of you know, during the period from March 19 to June 28 this year, there was an exhibition of the famous movie Terminator in the museum Miraikan in Odaiba .

This was a special exibition, which had to pay a premium to the normal input of Miraikan.
I have gone though a couple of times a museum Miraikan, I go the day before this exibition was over just to see Terminator.

The exibition had many life-size models of different terminators that have appeared throughout all the movies, and the truth is they were very well done.

Gundam

The other day I go through Odaiba to see the famous robot Gundam actual size.
On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, have created a replica of what would be real size Gundam and have placed in the park Daiba station.
Gundam is 18 meters and is quite impressive to see how well made this and how big it is so closely.

I went to see Gundam day, but it seems that at night with all the lighting that make you see it is quite nice too, also at night plug into Gundam and you can see as you move your head and smoke inside.

To all who are traveling in Tokyo, will be in Daiba Gundam from 11 July to 31 August, although there are people who are proposing that this is Gundam forever.

Last Friday, the company where I work organized a dinner at a company Yakatabune funasei .
Yakatabune (covered boat) is a Japanese traditional boat in on contiguity but was considered a luxury travel in these boats, today is a tourist or business activity widespread.

These house-shaped boats, departing from Shinagawa on the Sumida River through Odaiba , Harumi, and Takeshiba Kachidoki bridge.
The boat is booked at least 20 people. In our case, we were about 70 people, which took us out for dinner the typical dishes when he travels with yakatabune are: sashimi, tempura, zensai, soba etc.. In addition of course to have open bar for two hours.
The price of a dinner in this pot is 10,500 yen per person.

The dinner was very good, a good opportunity for those who do not work in our own office to meet all the new people and have a good time drinking and enjoying the views of Tokyo Bay.
