Synopsis of book

Masako, Kuniko, Yoshie and Yayoi work the night shift in a prepared food factory (obentos) in the suburbs of Tokyo. All have big problems, both money and family and thrive in a hostile and inhospitable. One night, Yayoi strangles her husband, Kenji, tired of continual physical assaults. Masako, Kuniko and Yoshie will help get rid of the body. Together dismember the corpse and scatter in several places in the city. The police are suspicious of them, but has no evidence to incriminate. However, in its list of suspects is Satake, the owner of a casino and a bar hostess who frequented Kenji. Meanwhile, a lender associated with the yakuza are discovered and persuaded to deal with other bodies.

The writer, Natsuo Kirino

Born in Japan in 1951, won the highest award for crime fiction, the Great Mystery Writers Prize for this novel. His books have been published in sixteen countries and several of them have been to the movies. Out is his first novel translated into Spanish.

Out is a novel that, apart from fiction, portrays the darker parts of Japanese society and particularly the lives of women who are relegated to their role as wives and mothers and how to survive their circumstances.
