P2P in Japan
Surely some of you already will have read previously that the largest telecom operators in Japan, started since last month to ban the use of P2P . This news was initially given as they really were not going to be all P2P programs, if not only for the popular Winny is one of the P2P download programs used in Japan.
Three weeks ago I was talking to an Irish friend and left the issue of P2P downloads and news of Winny, what the told me I could make sure that does not apply only to Pooh, as he had been called on the your ISP in Japan and had been warned that they were possibly miss detecting high traffic P2P traffic. The fate of my Irish friend, is that he is quite intelligent and had already changed its port and had bittorrent traffic encrypted, so your ISP is not sure if they were wise or not P2P, but rather suspect that the amount of traffic generated.
Last week came the same subject with a U.S. friend who told me he'd call your ISP to say they had detected that he had downloaded the movie Rocky, and that in turn, the ISP had drawn the attention being from U.S. that many people in Japan was down the film, so he warned that if they returned to detecting that down films and received complaints about this, would be forced to take legal action.
But this I warn all who are using P2P programs in Japan because it seems that is a serious issue and if they call your home, so if you decide spite of these warnings continue to use P2P programs I will recommend your traffic encriptarais cambiarais and posts your P2P program on the other less common for such programs, such as port 8080. Here is a manual of how to do it for bittorrent and derivatives .
