Sapporo TV Tower
The Sapporo TV Tower (Sapporo Terebi-to in Japanese Sapporo TV Tower in English) was built in 1957 in Odori Park measures 147.2 meters, with a viewpoint to 90.38 meters.
The tower was built by Tachu Naito, who is famous for designing the Tokyo Tower (Tokyo Tower), at a total cost of 170 billion yen.
In 1961 a digital clock was installed at the height of 65 meters, which was donated by Matsushita Electric Industrial (Panasonic parent company). The installation of the clock was suggested by the company founder, Konosuke Matsushita M., who thought that the digital clock would provide a good service to the tower.
Digital clocks located at the four sides of the tower has been repaired twice, in 1998 and 2006. The interior and exterior of the TV tower was renovated in 2002 and the color of the walls in the second and third floor was changed from pale green to dark green.
In the repair of the clock in 2006 the ad under the name was changed watches "National" to "Panasonic" (Matsushita is also parent company of National).
Recently it has begun planning the reconstruction of the TV tower tower 650 meters high, with an area of 7800 m² and an observatory 500 meters in addition to hotel rooms, offices and sports centers, other than by course his role as a television tower.
In the event that the construction plan is carried out, this would be the highest building all over Japan, beating the future New Tokyo Tower which ended in 2011 with a height of 610 meters.
